Night Ritual
I sit on the cold planks of the open deck
Close my eyes, breathe in darkness
As my skin feels beams
Of a moon
Hung only
for
me.

Wow! That's a great shot! You must have a really clear sky, I don't think I've ever had that view!

...deep breath...sigh...
(me, after I read your words and looked at the intense image).

I can almost feel goosbumpbs breaking out on my arms from the cool night air. I love goosebumps.

I'm all goose-bumpy. From that last line especially - "a moon hung only for me." Wow. And the image, rich and perfect in its simplicity.

Ahhh...pictures of the moon are one of my most favorite things. I can always find peace when I see the moon.

Absolutely beautiful, Melody.

the moon always looks so serene...if only we could be the same :)...

Beautiful shot Melody...and your words are so serene. I also love to just sit out and look at the moon. It is so calming. I remember when I was young and lived on our farm, I would go outside in the fall while the breeze was cool and crisp and the moon was full. It was so calming out in the night, but also so refreshing to feel the night.

That is a tricky picture to take - I have been trying to get a good moon shot for quite some time. It's excellent!

Gorgeous. I love quiet moments. Can't remember the last time I took one!

Wow. That is a great ritual. My nightly ritual goes like this: drink coffee, watch TV violence, eat lots and lots of junk food, leave crumbs all over the place so my 4-year old and 2-year old could wake up in the morning to say, "Good morning, Daddy. You made a mess again."

Absolutely gorgeous! The photo and the poem. So, she has hidden talents of a poet as well... What can't this lady do? : )

Beautiful. One of my most favourite memories is of watching the eclipse of the moon back in January of 2000. It was freezing cold out, but I thought it was pretty amazing. Nature is pretty amazing isn't it! How can anyone ever think all this happened by accident!

Aren't God's little love signals wonderful? What a close and personal God we serve. Bless the Lord for His loving kindness.
