Monkeying Around

Monkeyslippers

Way, way, way back when...like in October...my friend, Jenn of All Natural Mommies tagged me for the seven things meme.

Way, way back when...like a little later in October...my friend, Marcie of A Child Chosen tagged me for the seven things meme.

Way back when...it was only in November...my friend Erica of Crummy Cupcake tagged me for the seven things meme.

Lastly, I'm counting this as my meme from the tag by my friend, Leanne of Phoenix The Blogging Mama for the ten things.

While I'm lounging around in my Mary Jane monkey slippers, THANK YOU, CANDI, the time seemed ripe for catching up.  If my math capabilities have not failed me, this calculates to twenty-one bore you brainless engaging facts.  (I'll spare you the additional ten.)  Things have been interesting with me on a steroid which is playing havoc with my emotions and appetite. Let's see what I can come up with...

1.  Last night at 9:30pm I boo-hooed until C (my husband) fetched me a large veggie pizza.

2.  Today I snapped over 700 photos of the boys for the Christmas card photo and deleted every single one of them.  Nothing pleased me.

3.  Tomorrow I'll snap 700 more...if the boys are still here.  I've also snapped off a few heads.

4.  Earlier I called C on his cell phone while he and the boys were at the grocery store... just to add a few items to his list.  He abruptly said "I can't talk right now.  Wil is strangling Lee who is kicking Mac, and some lady I've never seen before is trying to calmly discipline them."  He hung up.  Oh.No.He.D'int!!

5.  I called C right back with my list...I was boo-hooing, of course.  The background noise from his end was a bit distracting.  He sounded frustrated.

6. While on the above call with C, I reminded him to run by the computer store and pick up a new AC plug for my laptop.  He sighed heavily.

7.  I ate an entire bag of Dove chocolates yesterday.

8.  I'm working on a bag of dark chocolate M&Ms as I type.

9.  I just remembered that I did not put up a new Mr. Linky for the week at Wrapped Emotions.  Later.

10. I cried for an hour because no one wanted to spend time with me.

11. I bit everyone's head off when they came to spend time with me.

12. My family has been outside for hours.  It's getting dark.  Wonder if they are avoiding me?

13. I have washed every piece of clothing in the house...twice, I think.

14. Doctors will not let me resume exercise yet, but I've walked 4,687 laps through the house today.

15. My dog is avoiding me.

16. Did I mention I LOVE my monkey slippers?

17. I wonder what's for dinner?

18. I cannot fastened my own bra.  I hope this is temporary.  Do you know how much fun a husband has when you ask him to fasten your bra and you have only one properly working hand?  Geez...they never grow up.

19. Lee just walked into the room, opened his mouth, paused, turned and ran into the hallway closet. Guess I still don't look friendly.

20. No one else has come back inside.

21. C finally came inside.  I boo-hooed to him how sorry I am to be so much trouble.  He assured me that I'm no trouble.  I snapped and called him "liar".

Thank goodness they love me.

If you find this to be the dorkiest post ever...remember, s-t-e-r-o-i-d-s. *she's smiling*

You are a gem, a one and only shining brighter than all the rest - the one that others might look at and think, it's TO shiny, or it's TO "weird" looking - but the one that your friends, family and loved ones look at as being perfect in every possible way...quirky, yes - silly, um, yes - sad, sometimes - loved, always...you are a wonder...of pure faith! Never change!

Many prayers....

Do I laugh or cry....? I hope this means your feeling better? I just wish a band-aid would take care of things sometimes, don't you. I actually told my husband that, "I don't want to WORK to feel better, isn't there just a pill I can take?" My prayers are with you, hoping you stay sane, get better, and keep your great sense of humor.

Oh dear the up and downy emotions of steroids, poor you. [I know what you mean about the 700 photos, can we duct tape them to the wall? the children not the photos!]
Best wishes

Oh man, do I understand the emotional roller coaster. I'm dealing with postpartum issues and the doctors trying to put me on so many drugs to "regulate" the hormones. Woo... fun... I'm the monster in this house, lately, and the crier!

I'm still praying for you. You have a wonderful outlook, on life, and put such a positive spin on any situation. We could really all learn a little something from you! :)

Sending hugs... :o)

Awwwwww Melody (((HUGS))) to you!! Thx so much for doing the Meme! :) I hope things get better for you soon!

Dorkiest post ever? I don't think so. I think it is one of the funniest, yet honest, that I've read!

If you are feeling down, remember that there are a couple dozen flowers out there for you. And since they're in cyberspace, none have wilted and you can go look at some any time you want!

awww, hugs to you sweetie.
i LOVE your slippers too. they are adorable.

btw, taking the perfect xmas card photo is such a PITA. i struggled with it this weekend as well. ;)

good to see your sense of humor is still intact. hope you're feeling better.

love the monkey socks :]

Followed your link home from Nesting Momma. Please know that I am praying for your full and rapid recovery, because the world needs good folks like you to show the rest of us how it's done.

Oh goodness...poor thing! Your family loves you dearly!

I love, love, LOVE your Monkey slippers! Mom's are allowed to have off days sometimes. I think it's in the rules or something, and they have to love you anyways, just like you love them no matter what. Hope you are feeling better soon Melody. My prayers and thoughts are still with you. XXOO

Don't ever stop doing posts like this, what's the saying--keep it real. Those kind of posts encourage and inspire us the most.

It must be in the air, I was boohooing last night to my hubby about how horrible I've been on meds as they navigate me through pre menopause multi symptoms, regular cycles and intense PMS, and pelvic pain from PCOS. Just call me Sybil..

You are too much. You always manage to make me smile! I felt like I was right in your head reading this post. Haha!

Oh, and I, too, am loving the monkey slippers!

Jane, Pinks & Blues

I would LOVE to come spend time with you! (Even if you are snappy) Number 18 cracked me up.

LOL...wonderful facts! I hope you are back to your happy self soon. :)

Melody, I love you more with every post. You are amazing! And your monkey slippers are awesome.

I'm glad you love your monkey slippers. Gives you a happy focus point. Your sarcasm comes through might strongly in this post and I can relate. I'm sure they are not avoiding you and will soon be spending more time with you then you may actually want. ;)

I loved this post... hope that you are feeling better very soon. #19 was hilarious. The monkey slippers are the best!

I want to spend time with you! Can we chat via phone again. I have free long distance.

Sister, steroids ain't about to scare me away. I've got double ostomy bags going at my house. I can handle ANYTHING.

*smooch* <---- To you from Parker.

Not dorky at all.

I'm so glad you like the slippers.

FYI for your other readers....if you want a pair for yourself, I found them at Target. They seem to be the more popular ones, because they are sold out of them t my Target :-)!

My nieces saw them on my blog and fell in love. They will have to settle for frogs and penguins, because the monkey ones are no where to be found.

I hope you are feeling better soon....and Lee, too!!

Yes, 18 and 19 were my personal favourites. As for mood swings, see my 'thought for the day' at the moment.
Poor you. Keep taking the tablets..everyone loves ya.
