Image of Truthiness

Tracey, she is a pied piper...I do whatever she tells me...I follow her everywhere.  Truthiness in self portraits here I come.

Sitting at the laptop early this morning I snapped a few truthiness shots of myself.  Without editing other than correcting my erroneous white balance and sharpening, here is the only photo close to being in focus...

Truth_me_2

I see the blue screen of my laptop reflected in my pupils, on the rim of my glasses and on my teeth.  Why my eyes appear brown is a mystery since they are actually a mix of blue-green...just keeping it honest.  I plan to do a better truthiness shot soon to include my entire head.  My aim was not very good this morning.

While we are being honest...

  • I cannot read a darn thing without my glasses.  Nada.  Zilch.  Zero.
  • The old neck is stiff and achy more days than not.
  • My skinny jeans do not currently fit.  Unless you count leaving them unbuttoned, unzipped as fitting.
  • Even my hairdresser has no clue just how much gray is in my hair.  We never ever let it show.  Never ever.
  • Recently the words "turn that music down!" came from my lips.  From MY lips.
  • I cannot remember my cell phone number.
  • Sleep sounds like an exciting adventure.

A lot more honesty could be added, but doing it in small doses is less painful.

Truthiness...let's see yours this Best Shot Monday.

Oh, you made me laugh! And let me tell you, I needed it :D

I'm with you on all but #1, and I'm gainin' on you fast :) Oh, and if you figure out the secret to the elusive 'sleep adventure', let me know... PLEEEEEZZE!

(I can't remember my cell phone # either and I don't think it's that odd... I mean, I never have a reason to call it... ummm... unless I'm trying to find it...)

I love your glasses - those frames are so cute! A beautiful truthiness shot!

I swear that I haven't forgotten about my 7 weird things - it's coming!

that's a great truthy shot -- love your glasses. i always want frames like that, but i just don't think i can pull them off!

Wonderful self portrait Melody. I can tell you one thing . . . you are a lot better looking than I am, even in your worst moments! Love the glasses. It is time for me to update mine. They're over 9 years old now. I know, that's terrible!!!

I just wish I could wear the same glasses for nine years! I have had to update my regularly over the past 4 years. I am hoping the vision crash ends soon. There must be a lower plateau somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for YOU Melody...you have such great bones and such an amazing face...age will only add 'interest' to our countenance :-D
And don't talk to me about grey hair. I am reeeeally glad Himself has a 'contra' deal going with a hairdresser friend!!

Wait, you mean we're supposed to remember our cell phone number? Hmm...*wanders off to find her cell phone number*

Just wanted to say Hi to you...

What a simple picture,
but for me very profound, (sp?)
For me... This picture really shows what the essence of you is, glasses, computer and camera in hand. It's all connected.
wonderful!

I don't just love the picture, I love the insights and descriptions you gave. I learn so much from you. Keep up the great work.

You really work those glasses---why do I look so dorky in mine (and no, you won't be seeing a picture!)

You are very creative!

What a day to read about truthiness. I just had to share some myself to my parents. With all my difficulties somehow I have faith something in my life will work out. We refinanced our house today which means my parents who cosigned on the house now have to sign off. Considering their constant disapproval of my husband's erratic work life I can't decide how mixed up this all makes me feel. Ah truthiness....you're hit the nail on the head today.

I really like your glasses - they suit you. I like your truthiness.

Oh girl - your perfect in every way - and if you dont believe that, go ask your boys and your hubby! :)

cute glasses, woman! :)

One more truth about you: you are an amazing, beautiful woman!

I love this picture just the way it is! And I love those glasses! (too.) I think I should get my eyes checked, maybe that would help with recent headaches...

As for loud music, well, most of it I don't mind about; but a LOUD TV - ugh! Makes me crazy!

It's Thursday...some truthiness anyway:

1. I have no idea where the digital camera is. My sons recently stuck it in front of my face and flashed while I was attempting to do taxes. Probably lots of ugly truth there.

2. Last night before I went to bed, I ate Nutella out of the jar with my finger. Yes, it was worth it.

3. My dog got out this morning, for the umpteenth time. My second dog. For the briefest moment, I'd hoped he was run down and dead so I wouldn't have to go out an find him yet again. But dog # 1 won't eat, drink, sleep or poop without him. Yes, I found him. Some man named Ben with this horrendously messy, smelly, beyond pig-sty home had brought him inside for the day and then went off to work. I shudder to think how much worse it would've smelled after a day of Staley with no potty breaks.

4. I should be getting ready to leave to teach my regular Thursday a.m. Bible study, but I'm addicted to blogs. I even just started one myself.

5. I have many heroines. Most of them write witty and poignant blogs....

6. I think I may have Nutella for breakfast this morning, too. But I'll use a spoon this time.

7. Other than the smell, my house is beginning to resemble Ben's. I need to go now.....

love this picture. :) and love your specs!

Wonderful truthiness self portrait! I love your truthful facts, too. :) It took me years to remember my cell phone number, too.

Even my fat jeans must remain unbuttoned and unzipped. =) Love the 'truthiness' of your photo.
