Finding Courage Through Sharing And Sometimes Cheating
Today I am cheating. I cheat lots of days, but please don't tell my boys...it would totally blow the umph of most of my lectures.
My friend Michelle of In The Life Of A Child begins her monthly blog carnival today...Finding Courage Through Sharing...and I had to participate. But I also had to cheat. See, my Bipolar/ADHD son (one of three special needs sons...one of four total sons) is rocking our world. So please consider this my introduction in a nutshell, just for now. I promise to do better later.
I'll meet you over at In The Life Of A Child for the links to the first participants...heaven knows I need a hunk of courage and inspiration right now...or the chocolate stash, nor the wine, will last through the hour.

Looks like a great carnival idea. I'm sure that those parents of children with medical needs will find great encouragement and support in this. Meanwhile, good luck with Lee.....13 is bad without the complications you have to deal with!! Prayers and thoughts.

I loved reading about you and your boys. Your life sounds very interesting. =)
And you must be great photographer if you can make a picture of your bathroom garbage look so pretty (I love the header picture of your blog).

DOH, why didn't I think of cheating? I, too have 3 amazingly atypical kiddos, what was I doing writing about each? Cheater, cheater, punkin eater!

Oh, not even close to cheating! :D I'm so glad you joined in, Melody, and I hope your post inspires others to do the same. It's so hard to make time to connect when life with your family is so complex and you do it beautifully.
I especially love how you refer to your kiddos as 'special purpose' kids... what a beautiful thought. I don't know that I'll ever be inclined to use the phrase 'special needs' again. Thank you for sharing about your wonderful family ~ I'm so looking forward to more stories from you :)

As a teacher of students with emotional behavioral disabilities, my heart goes out to you. I'm off today in order to attend a conference on Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents. If I gain any amazing insights, I'll let you know. In the meantime, have a GREAT day. :)

On second thought, maybe I should stay here? I could probably learn a lot from YOU! :)

What would we do without wine, and chocolate of course, but primarily wine.
You and your children are lucky to have found each other.

Loved your about me page. Love what you said about Special Needs sounding like they take when they truly give! Nice "meeting" you!
