When Harry Met Sally At Our House
It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
After the mating ritual on this very spot Sally single-handedly single-beakedly built their home.
She gave birth to their children and awaits their emergence into the world.
While Harry watches, pacing fluttering to and fro, ever the protector.
And each morning they greet our family with cheerful songs.
Thank you, Harry and Sally, for choosing to make your home with us. For bringing chirping, a reminder of instinctive love and renewal to our hearts. We needed that here...in our home...where the days have been a bit trying for weeks.
We can hardly wait to see the babies.

We played host to Harry & Sally's relatives last spring. They set up housekeeping in our garage...high on a shelf next to the boxes of blow-up mattresses. The kids loved having a family of little birds so close. They could sit quietly and watch the parents bring food back for the little ones. It was so nice having nature right there in our own garage. Except that Mama Bird would dive-bomb our heads every time we went to the car! And she didn't like us closing the garage door at night! LOL

Lovely shots and nice treatment. Glad there's a little singing in your life right now, even if it's only birds.....:-)

We have a cardinal next door and they serenade us all day long. It gives peace among the chaos, doesn't it?

Just wonderful Melody. Back in Canada a robin had built a nest right next to our living room window in a cedar bush. It was so interesting to watch, especially after the eggs hatched. Unfortunately the bush was a bit too close to the ground . . . sad

Oh, how sweet! I love having a birds nest near the house. Or, I used to. Then one year we had a nest in a little crevice by a window and somehow all the little bugs off of the birds (because they're filthy) got into the house and we had to stay at my parents house while we bug bombed the entire house. The entire upstairs was covered with tiny little red bugs. It was so gross. So I guess I don't really like birds nests after all.

Oh, how fun! We had a starling nest on our front porch in our old house(9 years ago) and it wasn't high enough so when they tried to get the babies to fly, they hit the walkway. We were so sad we could not help them. The next year we made sure a nest could not be built there again.
Hope you get to watch the babies spread their wings!

Sweet pictures. :) We have some birds that like to nest in the hyacinth bush outside our bedroom window every year. Their energetic chirping are far more encouraging than my alarm when it comes to getting out of bed in the morning. ;)

Beautiful pictures. You are lucky to have birds living with you, we have spiders right now. Not as cheerful.

Very cool photos. We have several nesting couples in our backyard. It's fun to watch the new families each year.

How wonderful - we have a couple right under our deck - it's soo cute. There's 4 little eggs down there, bright blue - we are excited to see the little babies too! :)
