Wicked Wasabi

Photography is not all about the rules.  Sometimes you shoot a photo because you just freaking love the colors of the sign...and it is hand-painted...and dozens of people are elbowing past you to get inside the little joint...and you have no kids or husband with you for the entire weekend.  But the fun doesn't stop when you get home because you find yourself shouting WICKED WASABI for two days.

Wicked_w_sign_2

People, on the count of three shout WICKED WASABI with me.  Come on, you know you want to.  One...two...three...

Now go find yourself some more fun and enjoy with wild abandon...or maybe with wild wasabi.

So in comparison to Tracey's Best Shot Monday mine is shallow...but honestly, you are reading words from a woman who has not had a sitter in almost ten years...really.  My weekend was a blessing...a much needed time to remember that Melody still exists and that grown-up strangers actually enjoy talking with me.  That I actually like being with me.

Are you having fun yet?

Very nice - glad to hear that you had a little free time. We had a lot of church this weekend between training for helping in the special needs children's room we are opening, a fellowship for parents of special needs children, practice for the Father's Day preschool choir, and the regular service.

In two weeks my two guys go away for two days, so I will get the chance to wake up when I want and enjoy some silence in the house!!

You're right... sometimes you just need to scream "wicked wasabi" to get yourself going!

Hey, I had a weekend like that too! Although the place we went to was called Lee's Hawaiin Islander. Not as cool as Wicked Wasabi!! But, it did have karaoke!

Oooh, walking around with just my camera and no husband or kids to steer me? Sounds wonderful. It sounds like you had a great time! And what a fun photo!

Even after living in Japan for many years, I can't bring myself to loving wasabi. I had a um, bad, experience with it, if you will :)

But that is a mighty cool sign. Glad to hear you had a little pick-me-up time :)

I love the "wicked wasabi" - it could become a catch phrase! - but I love it even more that you got some time off.

Yay for you! Nothing like a little Wasabi to put spice back into your life.

oh yes, a weekend away -- gotta love it!

HMMM is it bad that I have never had Wasabi?

Happy Monday - I joined again - I had forgotten about this awesome thing :)

Ohh I had to shout it!!! We LOVE wasabi in this house! We love the peas and on sushi. YUM! What a fun name for a restaurant!

That's a really cool name for a place. Ahh...the value of time alone and just for yourself cannot be underestimated! Hope you had a lovely time with just you!

How cool that you got to enjoy some alone time. I too am guilty of not taking enough for myself. Sounds like a fab place....I'm not crazy about hot wasabi, but love me some sushi!!!!

so glad you had a breather!

Mmm, looks like a fun place. Nice to get out alone once in a while, eh?

How fun! I'm so glad that you had such a much needed break!

I'm so glad you took the time to remember or at least begin to remember who you are. It's good advice for all your readers as well. Often moms don't remember who they are and if you loose yourself, so you loose you your mind.

Here's is hoping you are able to do this more often and not think your not entitled to living life on the edge...alone and free to be the.......

That sign is really cool. Now I am going to be saying it too! HA!

Glad you got some time to yourself. We all need that from time to time...

Oooh, I love me some wasabi...usually accompanied by some fab sushi. :) Great shot of the very cool sign. I hope you had a wonderful weekend away, since you most definitely deserve it!

Awesome sign! The colors are great, and what's not to love about Wicked Wasabi?!

not shallow. melody, the word shallow is never used in conjunction with you! i think it's a great fun wonderful sign.

ABOUT TIME you had that weekend!!!!!!!! Make sure it isn't another ten years till the next one.
PS - if you want a vacation spot - come visit me :)

Good for you that you got to enjoy being yourself for a while. I did shout "Wicked Wasabi" by the one just in case you wondered.

You are a crack-up - LOL! What I wouldn't give to hang out with you for an afternoon! :D
