SOOC = straight out of camera
Perhaps an explanation is required.
It was an afternoon like any other as I stumbled over various items...the majority of which are meant to be worn upon boy feet...strewn about the family room floor. Hurricane Boys had blown through.
I called up the stairway, "Boys! Come down here right now."
klomp...klomp...stop pushing me...hurry up and get out of my way...klomp...thud
"Mom, did you see that? He..."
"Stop it. I did not call you downstairs to hear you whine and tattle. Come in here and look."
I make the sweeping-arm-game-show-model motion indicating the mess on the family room floor, land my hand firmly upon my hip and don the mom facial expression which says "well?".
"What?" asks Lee.
"The mess all over the floor is what."
"Oh." the trio replies.
"Don't just stand there. Get it up now. When I come back in five minutes none of your things should be on the floor."
And I walk away.
And I return five minutes later.
And none of their things are on the floor.
The family photos and other lovely items which normally grace the fireplace mantle are...on the floor that is.
A mom should be very specific when issuing instructions for clean up...shouldn't she?
*Do notice the roll of toilet paper on the far end of the mantle. Don't ask. I don't know.
What is SOOC Saturday?
First, you don't have to share a photo to talk to me in comments on SOOC Saturday. I like hearing voices other than the boys' and those in my head.
SOOC Saturday is about posting images that have not been edited. I'm trying to let go of some OCD tendencies here, and inviting you to play along will make me stick to my mission as well as provide some weekend blogging fun. The plan is for my SOOC posts to be more image, fewer words; however, I couldn't resist the chance to share this one and its story.
Do you have a SOOC image to share today? (image alone or image and words, your choice) I'll be doing this every Saturday and you are always welcome to join.
How?
Post a SOOC image on your blog or photo sharing site of choice and leave a link to it in comments here. Everyone who plays along can visit the links (and any reader who simply wants to visit) for relaxed weekend viewing of photos kindly leaving a brief comment at each visit. Never any pressure. Play if and when you choose.
Now I'm going to redecorate my mantle.
*Edited to add: I will put up a Mr. Linky beginning next week in order to make posting links and visiting easier.
