As I watched these boys...these getting really big boys...of mine piddling in the grass, realization struck. Although now tween and teen boys...which means being treated like little kids quakes their world...the more they change, the more they stay the same.
Know what I mean?
Maybe it is true...boys never truly grow up...they just grow bigger. More handsome. More delightful. More irresistible. More mischievous. More clever...
"Melody, did you know that a certain boy used my garden sprayer which was filled with Roundup?" asked Chuck.
"No, I didn't." I replied.
"Yeah. For three days now as I pulled into the driveway, a circle of dying grass on the front lawn caught my eye. You know, the lawn that is finally greening up. I kept thinking what is with a perfect circle of dead grass? Today I looked again and noticed the middle portion...the peace sign."
Gurgling back a stout burst of laughter, I said, "Well, guess we know which child did that, huh?"
"Yes, our wanna-be hippie child."
"You'll have to admit it was a bit of ingenuity."
"Yeah, whatever" he muttered.
"Peace out, dude."
Oh, I hope the boys forget today is April Fool's Day. Can you imagine the havoc the three of them could beget with that sprayer?
[On my way to warn the neighbors before Mac decides this would be a good April Fool's Day prank.]
Happy Fools Day!
Mac really did this...no April Fool's...just wishing you all a fun, foolish day.
