The first time we put shoes on our son, Mac, he was thirteen months old and a new walker who had never worn shoes.
We took him to a store and proceeded to try on a variety of shoes. We got the first pair of shoes on Mac and stood him upright. He wailed, not cried - wailed, loudly and heart-brokenly which caused everyone in the store to look our way. We meekly smiled and shrugged in confusion.
Hmmm...did we pinch him or something?
We sat him down and removed the shoes. He instantaneously quieted. Oh, maybe the shoes were too tight. On with the next pair and the next and the next...
Every single time the same reaction.
So after the third pair it was a game. Put the shoes on the baby, stand him up, watch him behave as though concrete blocks were attached to his lower limbs and laugh uncontrollably at this behavior. It was funny. He refused to take even the smallest of steps. Just stood there wailing as though glued to the floor.
He has never like shoes. Ever.
Explains why he chose Taekwondo as his sport.

What image do you have to share this SOOC Saturday [or Sunday]? A story isn't required...this one simply came rushing back when I saw this photo from last week. giggle
