I really must start a word list.

We move to math which includes a review of multiplication facts. It's Mac, again...

Why are they called tables? They don't have legs or tops like tables. Why aren't they called multiplication lists? They're just lists of the multiplication facts. It's dumb.

He's on the receiving end of my look. Doesn't matter. He's still talking...

Will all of this math help me be a jabagillionaire with a really fast car? 

Where'd he get that word?

We move on to narration of the day's reading assignments.

Mac has a little problem focusing, so I assist him while Wil dutifully awaits his turn.

Wil cracks one-liners at his brother the entire time Mac narrates while I practically sit on him. 

~~Preface to Mac's next statement - I am not going to tell you the title of the book Mac is reading, nor the name of the character to whom he refers. Why?

You might love someone with that name and if I'm anything, it's polite. Thank my mama. ~~

Mid-way through his narration...

If I'd given birth to that child, I'd have given her a better name. Seriously.

I instigate bribery to encourage a more studious atmosphere.

Seriously.

[You don't even know what else transpired.]

However, it has become more complicated and more expensive to bribe them.

They're now talking fast cars and women.

Did you know that male teen hormones will strip a mother of all patience and sanity?

Know it.

Mac again...

Mom, how is all of this knowledge going to help me get a girl?

What am I going to say 'hey, check out the brain'? I don't think so.

Maybe you had to see the flexing and gesturing to truly appreciate that last line. I didn't get a photo.

Sorry.

Then I realize he is sitting there all innocent and adorable - listening - learning.

Oh sure, he's only seven weeks old now, but he'll grow up to be one of them.

For now, isn't he the cutest?

Alternate Title: Makes A Homeschooling Mom Proud

Do you realize I am living among three young males in the hormonal-attitude-flaring age range of 12-14?

I lose count of the number of times [now pardon me] the words balls, nuts, boobs and hot chick are heard daily in our home. I am sparing you the really good words.

There is a new word I'll be petitioning dictionary.com to list in the lexicon...

Mac: Lee, you're a boob.

Lee:  Shut-up, dork.

Mac: Dork is not a cool word. It's old. You're a boob.

Lee:  Who cares, dork.

Mac: Your boobality is showing.

Lee:  [no reply]

boob-ality

boob-ality

boo-ba-lity

boobality

One would assume, as the non-body part definition of boob is a stupid or foolish person, boobality would be defined as:  stupidity; foolishness.

Does that sound about right to you? I don't want to show my boobality when I contact dictionary.com.

No Nutritional Value Friday

Being a homeschooling family has perks other than wearing pajamas all day.  Another is that as the mom, teacher and lunchroom lady I am permitted certain powers...one of those happens to be declaring no nutritional value Friday. Every Friday the boys are allowed to have a lunch of their choosing as long as the ingredients are in-house.

Today's lunch of choice was cream cheese and jelly [albeit all fruit, all natural] sandwiches, potato chips, apple slices, chocolate chip cookies drizzled with chocolate sauce and washed down with milk.  Yes, the apple and milk are deviants from the no nutritional value theme, but it was their choice.

Sometimes you've got to chill and enjoy the junk in life.

Have a happy no nutritional value Friday. It's not just for kids, you know.
