Through the Window

While sipping coffee from the breakfast nook, a moment captured through the window...

 The day lillies are about to bloom

and so too, I believe, is a young photographer.

We have taken an unplanned hiatus from Mac and Melody

because...

I am not one to force my almost 13 year old son to pursue an interest when he is, well, not interested.

However...

The delightful opportunity of a collaborative (in addition to our own) has renewed Mac's interest in photography.

Me...I'm happy dancing.

Him...snapping photos daily.

We will soon return to posting at Mac and Melody.

This week our family is preparing for the coming weekend's state Special Olympics summer games.

Wil will again be diving into that really big pool

while his mom hangs over upper deck railings photographing and capturing video.

Of course I will share.

Oh, there's even more fabulous news to share,

however, right now I'm afraid of jinxing things by speaking of it.

The new family is home and everyone is well.

• I am preparing to return to blogging here at Slurping Life.
• Working on updating the blog design...pray I don't delete it.
• I'll be sharing heartfelt as well as informational posts about living life with a child in residential treatment/school. I know our family is not alone in this difficult decision.
• The joys [and trials] of parenting boys who live with special needs will continue.
• The topics of adoption and advocacy for adoption and children with special needs.
• Photography...well, photos will always be heart and soul of Slurping Life.
• I am updating my neglected flickr.
• SOOC Saturday returns this weekend! Please say you'll join us.
• Mac and Melody will be posting again next week. The dude burned out on me for a while.
• Soon I hope to share a new blogging venture taking form in my thoughts...first, let me sort the new roles of my life.
• Lastly, I've missed you all and cannot wait to read what is new in your lives.

A Light from Within

Despite family upheaval around him, Mac is preparing for his first photography showing this weekend at the young artists market of a local art festival. He [and his mom] are way excited.
